Economic Corruption - Global Rankings for 2011
The scale and depth of corruption - defined by Transparency International as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain varies greatly across the world. No country can ever score a perfect score for eliminating corruption from their economy but the annual rankings of perceived corruption provide a useful way of identifying the best and the worst performers (most of whom are plagued by extreme poverty, war and failed government). Systemic corruption damages human lives and can undermine almost everything that international organisations seek to do to promote development and poverty reduction.
Several countries have made sizeable progress in tackling and reducing endemic corruption and are thus better placed to attract sustainable inward investment as part of their development strategies.

SLPP IN A CONFUSED STATE- DOMBOLO MIX-UP

There are people with integrety and common sense still in the SLPP. Afterwards this is a Party that began in the early 1950s with people with good crdentials; including Chiefs, Doctors, Lawyers Businessmen and women, Clargymen – people with consience who knew the values of Nation building. Pick up some of the old records, and read about their contributions. Men liks H E B John – the First Education Minister in Sir Milton Margai’s Government. Men like RGO King, Chief Jai Kai-Kai, Kaisamba, Hon Chief Bia Koblo, Kandeh – Bureh, JCO Crowther, A G Randal, PC Kamanda -Bongay, Prince J Williams of Bo, to name but a few.
Whrere is this integrety in MAADA BIO and the likes of him who selected him? ARE SIERRA LEOLEANS MAA-DA? Are You CRAZZY? Maada Bio for President? What a JOKE!!Lets have more resignations or actions and demonstrations against this unacceptable fafe of COUP-MAKER optimist who thinks he should lead Sierra Leone. One thing we must remember, the AMNESTY that was reached in Ivory Coast(after MAADA Bio’s Palace Coup on Strasser) was never recognised by the UNITED NATIONS. Even Kofi Annan- the then UN Secretary General, rejected with RAGE the fact that people like BIO should get away with killing innocent people. This man was involved in more than one plot to stage the coup in 1992, then afterwards made a coup on his Leader Strasser. How can Sierra Leoneans TRUST such an unstable powerdrunk self promoted general? He should be facing charges in the International Criminal Court soon, now that the Special Court of Sierra Leane's mandate is coming to an end. Like Charles Taylor, Dr Radavan Karaditch, he should not escape justice for the innocent whose lives perrished with his contrbution. Shame on people like Dr Khadi Sesay, people with intellegence who is still backing kim. Well as for John Benjamin, he is right up there with it as well- Secretary to the NPRC -who will forget?
I am not surprised JOHN LEIGH resigns. I am sure more clear minded and upright SLPP Party workers will take correective measures soon if the SLPP is to survive as a proper Political Party and not a CLICK of secret society marginal men.

Sir:
After much careful
thought and deep soul-searching over time, I have concluded that I must exit the
party that I have genuinely long labored to promote and modernize against
impossible odds.
In deciding to
resign my party membership, I have categorically rejected any and all advice and
recommendations from deeply loyal party friends I respect and who repeatedly
pleaded with me to stay put.
Clearly, while many
fine personalities continue as loyal, hard working party members nationwide and
abroad, someone with my background, experience and upbringing cannot belong to a
political party fronted by ex-junta personalities and under the sordid influence
of those I personally know as nation-wreckers, money-grubbing lying rogues,
false pretenders for money and such-like characters; not to mention the
widespread acceptance in secret and off-camera of voodoo juju-swear ceremonies
as part and parcel of the party's unofficial 'democratic' process in selecting
its leadership.
Accordingly, please
enter my resignation, effective today, from my membership of the Sierra Leone
People's Party as well as any patron or committee positions that may have been
assigned me.

REALLY! ARE SIERRA LEONEANS MAD? WERE THE SIERRA LEONE PEOPLES PARTY (SLPP) DELEGATES WHO VOTED FOR THIS OUTCOME, REALLY CRAZZY? HAVE THEY NO SHAME? OR DO THEY THINK SIERRA LEONEANS ARE DAMMED FOOLS?
Even die hard SLPP supporters know this is wrong. Even the Women's Leader in Freetown did not hesitate to wash her hands clean of this bloody minded COUP PLOTTER/COUP MAKER KILLER. Don't these delegates know that the Ivory Coast Accord which gave AMNESTY to him and the rest of the NPRC/RUF in 1996 was not recognised by the UNITED NATIONS and the then SECRETARY GENERAL- KOFI ANAN- rejected it furiously? MAADA BIO/ JOHN BENJANIN/ NYUMA et al, should by now be in the HAGUE like CHARLES TAYLOR, Radavan Karaditch; Ratkom Muladitch and people like that. The blood of the 29 people murdered on 29 December 1992 still smell fresh in his hands and connot be washed away by sneeking into politics by trying to lead the country. His self promoted Bregadiersihip does not mean anything for the human rights of the innocents like SALAMY COKER and others whom they so mercelessly murdered on that day: afterwards he was top bras in the NPRC with Captain STRASSER and JOHN BENJANIN.
His separate COUP PLOTS with NYUMA are well documented and revealed by the late JOURNALIST MASSAQUOI, former Chairman of the Journalist association. His part in the arrest and subsequent killing of YAYAH KANU his former ARMY leader because he was about to back off from their desire to make a coup will not go away. I say to MAADA BIO: A COUP IS A CRIME OF TREASON AND WILL ALWAYS REMAIN A CRIME OF TREASON NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES:AND HE HAS HAD PLENTY OF PRACTISE IN THAT. DONT FORGET HE OVERTHREW STRASSER ALSO, THE HEAD WITH WHOM HE FIRST PLOTTED. CAN SIERRA LEONEANS TRUST SUCH A MAN- WHOSE LURST FOR POWER STOPS AT NOTHING BUT THE DESTRUCTION OF LIVES OF EVEN HIS OWN FRIENDS FELLOW COUP MAKERS AND PLOTTERS? NO AMOUNT OF FINE SPEACHES WILL CURE THE PAIN IN THE HEARTS OF THE LOVED ONES OF THOSE HE HAD KILLED
DOES HE THINK SIERRA LEONEANS ARE FOOLS? What hanppened to the CHIEFS of KONO that were murdered on their way to Freetown and secretely burried in Tekhor Barracks? - The blood of the likes of PARAMOUNT CHIEF SAHR SUNGU M'BRIWA will cntinue to hunt MAADA BIO,JOHN BENJAMIN, NYUMA, STRASSER and the rest; and the whole of Sierra Leone will be CURSED if BLOODY MINDED/BLOODY HANDS MAADA BIO be elected President! KU NA FO N'GAWoh Va"!!.
Strasser had to flee from England because even the Lecturers in Hull and the Student Union would not tolarate MEN WITH BOOLD IN THEIR HANDS- and MAADA BIO thinks he can get away with it. Certainly not!!
A COUP IS A CRIME OF TREASON !! and will always remain a crime of teason; even the Late Chief Justice WHITE of Nigeria said so. Think of South America, Cambodia and Germany - BIO and his ELK are WAR CRIMINALS, and must answer for their crimes- not meddling in the politics of Sierra Leone.
If this is what DEMOCRAZZY brings to Sierra Leone, we better live under the conditions offered by the Sheiks in the ARAB World

Western Area Women's Leader of Sierra Leone's main Opposition Party Resigns Position with immediate effect

Haja Rabie Allie, the Women’s Leader for SLPP’s Western Area region has confirmed to Awareness Times that she tendered in her resignation from the Women’s Leader position effective the day Maada Bio was elected as Flagbearer (August 1st 2011) but she will continue to remain a member of the SLPP despite her feelings about the choice of "39% of SLPP delegates".
She also responded that she would not be able to tell whom SLPP members in Western Area will vote for as President at the 2012 Elections as she was not in their minds.
The Resignation Letter from Haja Rabie Allie has been uploaded on to our Internet Website and can be viewed down below right at the bottom of this page. Haja Rabie Allie remains to be one of the staunchest members of the SLPP in the last few years. Throughout the last four years in opposition, she has personally financed a huge number of programmes of the SLPP in the Western Area.
Next week, we will publish an exclusive interview with SLPP’s Western Region Young Generation Leader, Ibrahim Coachie Mansaray. His palpable resentment at the choice of Julius Maada Bio is a reflection of many SLPP voices all over Sierra Leone who have been incessant in their condemnations even as others have rejoiced at the choice of Bio.
Unfortunately, Mr. Maada Bio's actions since he was elected have not helped the situation. Bio opened himself up to serious ridicule from pro-APC tabloids this week when the contents of discussions during his recent visit to the U.S. Ambassador was used by APC writers to highlight Bio's "divisive mindset" and his "dictatorial and military-junta mentality".
